
Dr. Linka Griswold holds a doctorate in clinical forensic psychology and two master’s degrees; she attended Pepperdine University for her undergraduate and graduate training and completed her doctorate with Alliant International University, Los Angeles. She is a DBT-certified, licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California and has over a decade of clinical experience. In addition to her clinical work, Linka served as professor of psychology and statistics at several universities in the Los Angeles area including Pepperdine University, Malibu and Antioch University Los Angeles.
Linka is especially experienced working with opioid dependency, chronic pain and survivors of trauma. Her clinical training included pre and post-doctoral internships focused on forensic neuropsychological testing, research and data analysis. Prior to launching her private practice, she served as program director and primary therapist for a trauma-informed, residential treatment center at Promises, Malibu.
Linka’s clinical repertoire include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), substance abuse recovery / relapse prevention, family systems approach, psychoanalytic, and solution focused modalities. Clients will be challenged and encouraged to focus on strengths, as well as mental and emotional growth. She uses evidence-based treatment modalities, pulling from contemporary and scientifically founded models within clinical psychology. Specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma / complex PTSD, dual diagnosis, chronic pain and relationship issues. She works with clients from all cultures, spiritual / religious backgrounds, genders and ages.
